This is a cover available on the mTek app, in partnership with Britam General Insurance Limited & Akko, that enables you to protect your mobile devices against certain risks. Go-Gadget Insurance provides compensation for the cost of repairing or replacing damaged phones.
Which gadgets does the insurance extend cover to?
The insurance provides cover solely to handheld mobile phones specific to the models listed below:
- HTC
- Huawei
- Infinix
- Itel
- LG
- Lenovo
- Nokia
- Oppo
- Samsung
- Sony
- Tecno
- Wiko
- XTIGI
- Xiaomi
What incidents are covered?
The cover caters to the following incidents:
- Cracked Screens
- Spills and Liquid Damage
- Accidental damage e.g damage caused by dropping the phone
How can I buy Gadget Insurance?
- You will begin by downloading the mTek Services from Google Play Store
- Once you are set up on the app, click on ‘Buy Insurance’ then pick Go-Gadget Insurance
- While on the app you will be able to follow a step by step guide on the details required. Once done the app will show you the applicable amount for your cover and enable you to make payments
- After making payments, proceed to upload front and rear images of your phone. Kindly take the photos using your phone’s camera against a mirror
- Upon approval of your application, you will receive an email notification with your policy document attached
Does the cover have a waiting period?
Yes. There is a 30 day waiting period on accidental damages.
What do I do incase of a claim?
Immediately notify us by clicking on the claim button on your mTek Services App.
Does my phone have to be new?
No. The cover can be extended to both new and used smartphones.
